I had similar problems and it was the actuator in my case, car wouldnt get more than 14psi the more we tried the worse it got. Popped in a 12psi actuator and wam 18psi plus all day.

That's peaked pretty early.

Besides the boost going away, what about valve springs ?

Haven't changed the valve springs. Something I'd assume the tuner would pick up. I'll ask when I ring 2moro

So how much power did you gain from that? Not too keen on running 18psi but interested to see if that's making a difference to the tune

I guess it all depends on if your happy with how the car performs on the street. I first had my car tuned by tunehouse and it wasn't really what I was looking for so I changed workshops and went to see Joe at cms . I'm 100% happy with the car now and would never change tuners.

Hey jules my MT tune with similar mods looks a lot like yours too, I have a 8psi actuator and my tune peaks around 15-16psi tapers to just above 12. Rob said he pulled the boost at the top as it wasn't going to much more power. I only have the stock CAI witha k&n but with a turbo back 3.5 Xforce so maybe with turbo side intake could have gone a few more rwkw. However I'm quite happy with what I have, torque and power both come on early making for a fun drive.

When I had my surge fitted tha car was put on the dyno and just needed the AFRs tweaked a little( from memory described as a little fat).

I added the PW surge/ PW2 IC/Nizpro overboost valve/flapper mod as security for more consistent, safer power on the street. Not a single dyno run.

Just remember when others have to refuel at 1/2 tank you can still power down safely to the low fuel light!!! And still have decent power on a stinking hot day.

At 12psi 307kw, at 14psi 335kw, at 18.5psi 405kw, although I have a TO4...

Same on my BF only it's the injectors holding me to safe levels (low 300's) for long term ownership :)

if the afr's did not change with the new fuel pump then you do not need to retune.

But the fuel system is not your problem.

if you are really worried about the number and don't want to spend a heap of money, get a dyno run from another shop and see how it compares, some shops strap cars down way too tight which can rob power, but if they do this for the before and after you can still see the legit gains.

There are tests that can be done to work out if there is an issue, but that's not normally included in the cost of tuning, talk to Gentech about whether they did any test or just tuned it and whether they are prepared to diagnose it for you.

Without trying to be smart so forgive me if it comes across this way, but you did the combination, you purchased the parts, you may have to accept that there is an issue with a part you have supplied. If you purchased a package from the tuner and they guaranteed "X" amount of power with the combo and it did not make it, it would be up to them to find out why, whether an issue with a part they supplied in which case they would chase up the supplier, or whether there was a problem with the car which would fall back to you.

Tyre types can affect dyno readings as can wheel size, I know for a fact that Nittos rob power and are inconsistent on the dyno, great on street, not great for tuning.

I had a G6ET once that would not go over 280 rwkw even though it had a 100 cpi high flow cat, a change to a 200 cpi cat and it went 305.

The small turbo will not hold high boost in the top end and choice of hardware will impact how much boost it will have, some tuners have spiked the midrange up to 18 psi plus hoping to carry a little more boost in the top end, not really ideal for a nice driving car.

Gentech are good at what they do, talk to them and see if you can work out a plan of attack if you are concerned
