What ratter said. My G6E was another car that only just saw 300rwkw with all the supporting mods, most up here will spin up 310-330 on 18psi falling to 15. I fixed it by changing valve springs and turbo :)

Without reading any of the above, all I can say is that is one of the best AFR curves (or lack of) I have seen on an XR. I know what is required to get a desired AFR curve and to me they have done a hell of a good job. The fact that it has made that power on that boost also impresses me. I'm usually a harsh critical *beep* but I see nothing wrong here at all.....if anything the turbo boost control (mechanical component), cooler and valve springs may need work.

Nah didn't really do any testing on what's holding it back but gonna go ask kit this Arvo. I did ask a few times but sort of hinted at there not being much to do, it's just the car.

Not keen on going elsewhere just yet just was using this forum to get some answers and possible questions for gentech

Tyres were 245/40/18 blue streak. Borrowed them cause they couldn't tie the car down with my 20'a

Yea toads looking at the graph it is tuned really well! Driveability is great and not saying that 295 isn't enough (for now) but just wanted to know why it wouldn't go more.

Gonna stop in and have a chat this Arvo. See if he can run some tests and diagnostics to see if there's more in it somewhere

Appreciate everyone's input!

I've got similar mods except im still running the factory air box and when tunehouse done my 98 tune (16 psi tapering to 12 psi.) it made 336kw on their hub dyno . When I went to cms I got Joe to run it up on his mainline dyno and it made 298kw ( the motor only had 10,000km on it) so it shows the big power difference between the two types of dynos. I got Joe at cms to do a united E85 tune on my car and it made a big difference on how the car performs and it currently makes 340kw on Joe's dyno .

So if e85 is an option id go with that ,I think that's where the small turbo shines

Get it to a track, don't worry about dyno numbers please!

my ute was making 450+rwkw till J@T tuned it this week, we r now making 410rwkw, and ended up with 0.77 lambda across the run on neat 85. The car feels more responsive and quicker than when it was making 450rwkw. Don't let numbers throw you off!

J@T pulled a 11.8 pass with barely any mods and tune of 300kw

Mate some reassuring stories and comments here which is good, and it goes hard I can attest to that. It was just how come the number is low and yes we all know it's just a number.

If nothing else more broadly this thread I think is quite good because people get so many expectations and it's interesting to see how things don't always work out, as we see a few peoples stories on it. So pretty reassuring nonetheless.

food for thought, my old bf made made 320rwkw with a pw stage 1 cooler with stock intake and k&n. Changed to another cooler brand that was bigger which at the time I assumed was better with an under battery intake. Made like 10kw more power with a sh*tload more boost screwed into it, but it did sound sh*t hot with the underbattery intake.

Needless to say I well never buy that brand of gear again :imsohappy:

Guessing rapid cooler?

Sooo had a good chat for a while with Kit today about my car. Valve springs etc are all fine. He said he would have noticed in the tune if they weren't right. Next step for me would have to be to change out different parts to see how the car reacts. This would be trial and error and cost way too much so for the moment the car is staying at 295. May enter a dyno day at some point in the future or just go straight to the drags. I want to run it on et's but probably won't be able to afford it so might be done on street tyres.

Next step will be in 2 years when I finish uni to go gtx3576, new exhaust from turbo back and valve springs. Also through some eflex at it and see mid to high 300's hopefully and that'll stay there

Thanks for everyone's input and advice. At least now all my problems (fuel system and idle) are sorted and I get to enjoying the car. No 300 thread for me unfortunately though..
