It really not freaky my kids could setup the smart phone viewing is optional and is there if you want to add it. Must new home CCTV system has the option.

Good system and good price.

I run a Pacom 8ch dvr system with Samsung CCTV Cameras and UPS back up power.

Great night vision and holds recordings for up to a month.

I run two monitors one with the system and a wall mount in the bedroom so if you hear a commotion out side at night you don't have to get up to see what's going on.

System covers all areas around the house.

Ahh how nice would that be, just need a crop to pay for it. :-)

Analogue cameras motion detection the digital ones are way too expensive for home operation.

I carnt see the need when you can get 670 lines and perfect picture quality with analogue.

Digital is only really good for security use as you have a much better zoom operation with them but you would be using PTZ and have someone full time monitoring the system.

Define perfect picture quality

Even the best analogue camera at 4CIF is nothing to a 720p image, let alone 3 or 5 megapixel.

Digital or IP Camera's mean you can digitially zoom on the saved video without it pixelating.

as an example

I can now cover say three or four pumps at a servo with one high res IP camera zoomed a fair way out compared to the good old days of one analogue camera per pump.

Anyways, this thread is about home security so whilst IP may be still slightly out of reach for now, analogue is dead and it wont be too far down the track I am selling fixed lens 720p IP cameras for under $200.

Width range is good covers around 140 degrees my Pacom system only has a two stage zoom x2 or x4

The picture quality is a little pixelated on x2 zoom and no better on x4 zoom but don't use the zoom.

They are the new Samsung EVO day night.

interesting!! Privacy laws don't apply in Qld? Good thing they got the scum bag but how did you manage to get the footage without looking onto your neighbour’s property

None of mine look onto any neighbours property
