The new HSV GTS is too heavy to ever be fast on a track.

Even with a lot of mods, don't think I could make it quicker than what I currently have.

Same motor in the Cadillac seems to be doing 12 flat@116mph and dyno around 370rwkw....

The GT R spec is close but I think the GTS will be quicker. As for mods go for the LSA motor, upgrades like cams,2400 blower and other bolt ons seems to produce around 700hp at the wheels.Similair mods to the Maimi motor excluding cams, produces about the same power so I wouldnt be to concerned as the maimi motor responds to mods just as well and makes similair HP.

Will be intrested in lining up with one in the future.

I wouldnt say no, it would have to be a blady well maintained one though. Keeping them maintained is a bugger on these

Yeah, but probably still end up costing you less than the tart polishing your knob.

Hennessy Performance in the US are doing some pretty good mods for these motors. Who needs a supercharger?

I would love to sit in one and have a drive to experience what 100K would get me from the red camp. As was mentioned they claim to be targeting the Euro monsters, can't imagine the finish levels would be anywhere near?

Would be great bragging rights though if your factory stock HSV could beat one on a track either straight line or around corners. But I doubt the Euro drivers would care more than a little.

So we are now comparing a 10 year old, and a 14 year old car with a new car of similar value? New for new, you wont buy a Ferrari for $100,000. End of story.

And as stated, maintenance costs on a 2nd hand(or new for that matter) Euro car will kill your pocket.

And most of you still dont get it, most GTS sales go to well off business people who just want it cos they can. Very few will ever see a track of any description.

I'd like to see what one puts out on the dyno.

With the 317s throwing down between 230 and 250kw, it'll be interesting to see the reality for the 440.

I vote for 370 at the treads.

However, no matter the power output or the bells and whistles, there is no way I would ever be able to pay $100k for a Late model camira and holden's (or Ford's for that matter) rubbish build quality.

Check out this thread http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/85354-lsa-on-the-dyno/

Not sure if anyone has done anymore testing as of yet in Aus but I'd be cautious interpreting the HSV stated 0-100 and 1/4.

The total package of this car is a huge step up on the old gts and even GT's but the power figure isn't that great in reality

Here's a 1/4 of what the cts-v does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSHwBw6WH4w

Obviously the GTS has different weight, suspension and wheel and tyre package but just a gauge of what to expect. Probably a great track car but the power at the fly is a fair bit overstated
