Easy as, because my mechanic wanted a weld in one but this will be heaps better

It is illegal in vic and I'm assuming other states frown upon cutting a car up also

fgvic Member 27 Member For: 11y 11m 18d Posted 01/08/13 12:57 AM Author Share Posted 01/08/13 12:57 AM yep no worries, what should I say to the inspector? Just that it's missing and why wasn't it pick up with your report? It's annoying as I had a private inspection also done.. full mechanical inc compression testing and full body and he didn't pick it up either

As I sais previously it may not be an issue at the moment and you think that in a few years time and you may need another rwc that you will find somebody that may overlook it, that may happen but Vicroads send info out to their testers quite often as things start to get noticed to inform their testers what to look for, your car obviously passed this time but it may not next time.
SecaBoy Donating Members 203 Member For: 15y 11m 16d Posted 01/08/13 04:14 AM Share Posted 01/08/13 04:14 AM I live in qld and when I had my accident at the front of the car, the insurance company replaced everything with no questions asked. they even cut the new support bar out so the I/c could fit. :lol:this is just my opinion, take it with an ocean of salt....I've got just a touch over 300kw and you dont need the dump/cat to achieve it.if you're gonna do dump and cat, you may as well do the full exhaust for the price difference (and to save the cost of retuning)I've got hiflowed injectors, xcal, tune, rapidsystems v2 kit, f6 turbo and valve springs and I'll be looking at doing the wastegate/actuator/flappy thingy mod and full exhaust system which should get me close to 500hp (my end goal).if you're hunting for more, then go the bigger injectors at the start. no point paying twice for something. does the $1100 include tuning? if so, that's VERY cheap, imo.
fgvic Member 27 Member For: 11y 11m 18d Posted 01/08/13 04:40 AM Author Share Posted 01/08/13 04:40 AM (edited) @ratter : looks like I was worrying for no reason! I took it down to the panel shop told him the situation, he had a look at it and said its perfectly fine. He said that its only plastic that has been cut and the main support just behind the bumper is still intact? He said its still roadworthy and yeahI will submit some pics just to make sure he knew what I was talking about. Now my only concern is will the stepped be able to be fitted with the plastic missing? In the pic 1/3 you can kind of see how the stock intercooler is mounted, using a kind of double bracket thingHopefully they don't come out too largeWhat do you guys reckon? Pretty sure it was a Nizpro cooler in there before.. not sure which model?SecaBoy, Thanks for the detailed post! Geez that's pretty good of them! Yeah true, what size is recommended? Also brand and cost? Would I be able to get much more power with the exhaust or is it more for sound? I think if I take it down to the track, that the exhaust would be more beneficial because of the heat500hp seems to be a good goal, coming on nicely! I don't think it includes a tune, we haven't really spoken about pricing for tune more so just installing these parts. I better pay him a visit just to check that out! He was saying that he wants to change the stock actuator because he said the ones on it usually aren't strong enoughCan get quite a bit more power with the turbo mod and full exhaust!
