Hey guys, finally saved up to start doing some mods! :wwww:

Its a manual series 1 FG xr6t. I am aiming to start at over 300rwkw with these mods, but may want to go higher after depending on how it feels. I want it looking as stock at possible (black intercooler ect.) and to stay reliable. I will be trying to occasionally get it on the drag strip and track after doing mods too, so want a half decent set up!

My plans are 4" intake + battery relo kit (already got)

60lb injectors

hi flow cat

intercooler and piping

xcal3

With the 60lb injectors and xcal, my mechanic said he can get it for 1100$

Does that sound reasonable? I'm not sure what brand injectors but yeah

With the intercooler, I was planning on a stepped intercooler. But I didn't know the previous owner had already cut out the support bar to install an intercooler. Should I take it to a panel beater and get them to replace it? or should I just be happy that it is already remove and chuck in a big intercooler

I would want the ProcessWest stage 1 in the group buy if I was getting it put back in.

Or I would think ProcessWest stage 2 (complete kit) or plazmaman stage 2 kit, if leaving it out

What would you guys do?

I was reading on here that the venom cat seems to be the way to go. Are they any good? I mentioned it to my mechanic but he reckons they are no good. Also should I try and include a 4" dump? like the plazmaman one for $950?

Thanks for any questions you may be able to answer!!

sounds like you're planing things out pretty well.....good job.

With the intercooler, if you went the larger 1, I'm wondering if it will just be over-kill though, and if you joined the group buy, do you have to get the bar thingy replaced?

Thanks BenDoCo! This forum is a great help

Yeah I was thinking it may be overkill.. But at the same time, if I end up going turbo upgrade and full/cat back exhaust it may come in handy going the larger one

And the usual RRP of both ProcessWest intercoolers are identical.. so pricing difference between all three is about 400$

So getting the bar put in, to get the cheaper cooler may infact end up costing more.. Wish it was still in, would of made things ALOT easier haha!

EDIT:

Yeah I think I would have to get the bar put back in, I think that's where set of brackets are mounted

I was trying to decide between the pw stage 1 and 2 coolers. The advantage of stage 1 is no cutting required- not an advantage for you. Stage 2 cools better.

how long have you had the car for?

It should not have passed a rwc with the bar cut out, this would be an expensive fix as it would be a big job for a panel shop to replace the radiator support panel.

We have bolt in 5" cats to suit FG, they sell for $500 and we have used the same cat on a BF making 428 rwkw and as mentioned we have a group buy for the stage 1 cooler, we also have a group buy (about to close) for the PWR heat exchanger for the ZF if yours is an auto

Pazzo, thanks! Yeah I saw that, would be the go if the support was still there

My Rod Got Out, If I went E85, would I need to replace fuel lines and pump? or is it just the tune that is changed? Also can you change between E85 and 98? or are you stuck with E85? Just because I have noticed only a few servos sell it

Ratter, I bought it recently, but the RWC ended on the 11th of July.. I didn't know to look for it and I guess the inspector didn't either. How much roughly would you say? What brand cat is it? And are they in stock? And its manual

Looks one of the stage 2's would be better then.. Plazmaman or Process West??

Thanks for the help so far guys
