Jon you want to borrow my tailshaft?

Hey bud

That's real nice of you hey :) Thanks heaps for the offer bud but I have changed my diff yoke now. I ran it up at mates Ford workshop with their balance diagnostics tonight. We removed about 40gm of weight added by tailshaft mob and it seems slightly better. I will have another few shots at it hopefully tomorrow night.

I obtained these figures from PWR the other day, it compares their stepped with OEM core if it interests anyone. Apparently they have seen 450rwkw through their cooler? Hmmmm, don't know what sort of inlet temps that would see.

Anyhow my dyno is on Thurs morn so I hope I can get this shaft to behave

Kind regards Jon

Thanks for the pdf, even though I found it difficult to rwad the charts, the text kinda explained what was up.

Good luck with getting that tailshaft sorted..

I hope you get it sorted so your tune on thursday gets done without a hitch.

Good info, thanks Jon.

Look dorward to your results, plus to see your new cooler!

Im still dumbfounded why it is so Top Secret with info on coolers.

Geez can only think it would help with people to make a decision leading to a purchase.

To easy for peeps to write verbal blah blah, yet when asked to show what info they have, we get...

Nothing.

Bit of background reading from the ARE cooling website re intercoolers if anyone is interested.

http://www.are.com.au/techtalk/intecoolersMR.htm

Quote from the attached article

As a general rule, with a level playing field (manufacturing quality, both fpi's, tube size, thickness, & a hundred other variables), bar & plate intercooler cores dissipate more BTU's than plate tube & fin & then tube & fin cores - per square centimetre.

Hi guys

Ok so I had the G6 on the dyno today with the PWR stepped, I have to say it performed a lot better than I thought. We ran out of time to start logging outlet temps but the car will be going back soon with another actuator can. So I had a peak target boost of 22psi running with the GX76 comp, ambient was 21degC and outlet temps of the cooler never rose above 36degC. Peak power was 401kw. One thing noted was the way inlet temps stayed consistent run after run, between 25 and 36deg? I thought the tube length was a bit short but it seemed to work ok? Same result on my turbo LS1 with their tube n fin but that had a 600 tube length. Hopefully will get back out there soon and do some data logging of outlet/inlet temps and try the new lightweight tube n fin core out. I think in the warmer weather the short tube lengths will start showing some disadvantages

Hope this helps

Kind regards Jon
