Tube and fin all the way lol Horses for courses as they sayKind regards Jon
Z2TT Member 714 Member For: 12y 6m 22d Posted 17/10/13 10:59 AM Share Posted 17/10/13 10:59 AM It depends on the way the intercooler is designed, so a same size intercooler from one design/brand is not going to perform the same as another one of the same size.I have seen the Internal core design of one of the ebay ones and they look pretty junk, not something I'd put on a FG.Save your $200 and buy a FG F6 Intercooler, it will fit right and replace your stock one, works well even for 400hp.I did not notice much difference between the FG F6 and Proccess West Stage 1 Cooler power wise, maybe on very hot days the Proccess West will retain the performance, but otherwise I wouldn't bother. Anyone done a test during everyday street driving and around a race track? I always thought bar and plate was only good for drag racers and on the street/racetrack tube n fin was the go. At the moment I'm saving for a plazmaman tube and fin cooler unless someone can convince me otherwise . I'm not really interested in running down the strip but am interested in taking the car around a track

Bar and plate heat soaked after several runs, it weighed in at several kilos heavier than tube n fin. Difference was averaged at 17deg cooler for light weight tube n fin with a power gain of 7rwkw with no afr changes. Afrs were brought back to where they were originally and there was 12rwkw in it. Not massive but interesting none the less. Sorry mate but its tube n fin for me. Seen your work and its nice bud. No offence hey kind regards Jon

I have been building coolers n cars for 20+ years Kev, just my opinion bud from what I have seen and tested over that period. Like I said have seen plenty of your work, its nice. Just bar and plate is not for me that's all with that being said the bar n plate cores you are using are one of the best bar n plate units I have seen and would prob be more efficient at thermal transfer than heavy extruded tube n fin. Lots of the Suby boys love em too. No offence meant bud ok Just my opinionKind regards Jon
