Since there is no E85 anywhere close to where I live, whats your guys thoughts on a 2 stage boost controller with water / meth on second stage?

On low boost which would be stock garrett 12 psi boost I could just run 98, but have the 2nd stage say 18 ish psi bring in the water / meth to try and

keep up with the E85 guys with the extra cooling?

Apparently this can be switched on the fly, so that if ya just cruising around on a lazy 12 psi, and a little competition rolls up at the red light with you,

a simple flick of the switch and you got ya 18 psi and extra cooling / octane.

The 2 stage would save having a massive water / meth tank in the car and only be used when needed.

Anyone done this already? Or have any thoughts or extra ideas?

I disagree.....the on-set of knock on PULP is so far below MBT at 18psi its not funny, hence why cars running e85 are seeing really good gains.

Haven't people run set ups like that with an automatic switch that comes on at certain boost? Much safer than doing it yourself.

I imagine it would be hard for your tuner too

The 2 stage boost controller has an output that activates the system at a pre-set PSI, you dont need to turn it on. So its 1 switch that turns the boost up, and activates the water / meth. It would be rediculas to manually flick your water meth switch by hand as boost came on lol

There is a number of ways to set this up reasonably safely. The biggest issue is that the meth, being combustible, cannot be accounted for in the PCM's calculation for injector pulsewidths so some level of fudging is required. However it's a proven winner and should not be discounted.

Its just a simple nozzle that can be mounted in a location you feel would work best (after fmic). Its very much like a nitrous nozzle to be honest. Pump pressure is 200+ psi so the water / meth mix is injected extremely fine and atomized. If setup correctly the results are incredible. Its the "fail safe" that is crucial incase of a low flow or no flow condition it defaults back to lower boost / timing settings.

hi mate, did you end up going ahead with the set up? I have just spent the last weekend out at queensland raceway for powercruise, the ambient air temp and just straight up bloody hot days made a massive effect on the car! normally run 500hp on bp98 but the car felt more like it was running 400hp! did a late cruise when the air temps were noticably lower and the car felt strong again, unfortunantly e85 is not readily available where I live either so I am def looking into this http://www.snowperformance.net/stage-2-boost-cooler.html
