I had a similar problem with a stock KX 450F with 36 easy hours on it.When it was only 10 hours old it jumped the timing and possibly a valve kissed the piston.26 hours later it dropped a valve and lunched the head and piston.Head was a mess but we managed to repair it but still cost me over $2k in parts and labour to fix.It blew up again 2 hours after the rebuild by throwing a rod out the crank case.Point is that your valve could of been damaged like you said and failed 2 years later.

I think the dealer has a case to answer,so keep applying the pressure and something will give.

Good luck.

yeah something will give

your sanity

cause the dealer will fart around, and make imaginary phone calls to ford engineers, then the dealer will say the ford engineers are on their way, then the engineers will miss the plane, then the paperwork will be lost, then the guy you were dealing with at the dealership will go on leave, by then ford aust will be closed, and you will be officially bonkers.

Don't take it personal ratter I certainly didn't think it was possible but from what head exchange said it is! I just don't understand when it was returned with the broken guide and sounding like it did why they didn't pull a plug and look with the endoscope

Why would Ford want to look up your bum.

But they could have used a borescope and looked down your cylinders.

Just thinking out loud.

If the dealer did the initial repair and stuffed it (or may be didnt do some things it should have per the ford work authorisation) then they would have a very good reason for trying to fob you off and not even talking to the factory). It might fall back on them and not the factory - just sayin
