I had a mates car drop a valve and it mashed the head up pretty good, similar to the photo you posted. He had it repaired and it worked perfectly. Afterwards you wouldn't have known it had dropped a valve. His was so so bad it cracked the bore in 4 places, so it was a new block unfortunately. The carbon on the impact area is proof it was done some time ago.This resulted in the valves being compromised.End result what we see here. Who cares if the engine ran well. Entirely possible it ran fine as it did. If you have never done a valve job in your life then don't comment on what you think.I think you should get a replacement engine. Its Fords fault. If ford saw the impacts on the pistons they should have changed all valves at the time. They didn't so they have to do the whole engine now.
