No mate but I probably should have. After Nuford saw the vid they offered to pay for a independent engineers report which I agreed to, the engineer inspected the engine and sent his report to the dealer on the 18/10. As of now I still have not seen the report but I did speak to the engineer and his verdict was much the same as mine, prior to the dealer getting the report they were going to give me a copy of the report but after receiving it they changed there mind. Still more time has passed and no result apparently Ford Australia are looking at it.

If anyone hasn't seen the vid yet here is the link

And if this proves true anyone with a two teeth skipped chain can effectively claim some sort of repair either new piston's and or valves ( if in warranty period )

Very true Jeturbo and now that the engineers report proves my claim Ford are looking at replacing my engine with a second hand unit. I told them that's just not good enough considering that this process has taken over 3 months and has come at considerable cost to me.

Second hand engine is just a step backward, for all you know the used engine could be leaking oil and having issues in other areas, after all the issues you had need a new engine so your car will be all nice and good.

If the FG Engine is an interference motor then any car that skips teeth must have the head removed to check for damage so I think your ford dealer can never change the fact that they did not do that no matter which way they try to twist and turn the story.

are you sure they said second hand or could they have meant reco'd?

I would assume if they were not using a brand new engine they would use a remanufactured engine as they use Orger engine centre to do warranty repairs to engines, did you get this info straight from ford or from the dealership?

The dealership told me that ford were looking at using a second hand motor, after spending some time thinking about this there is no way I will back off at this point and take a second hand engine which could have been abused, poorly maintained, sat in the rain, driven through a flood or even serviced with a aftermarket oil filter. This whole issue has been about the principle and just think how many old lady's or people with no mechanical experience have or will just cop it on the chin.

I completely support you. This is not a grey issue. This is Black and White. They owe you a new engine, turbo and installation.

I personally am sick and tired of people not doing their job properly cause I am usually am one who fixes up their phuck ups.

In this case they maybe learnt something themselves but now need to cough up the dosh.

so could this be the begining of a product recall from ba onwards ? due to timeing issues now that they have admitted to 2 teeth causeing damage as its such a common problem??:P doubt it though.

also im pretty sure ford would have ment recoed engin as they dont deal with seconhand sh*t as far as im aware????
