Hi, I have a mk1 2011 xr6 turbo ute.

I'm wondering if the new mk2 xr6 projector headlights would be interchangeable into the mk1, at a glance they seem the same shape but I'm wondering if anyone has done this conversion or knows if its possible without having to change to the mk2 front bumper as I believe the mk1 bumper is much nicer. Thanks..

Hi Ali_g,

I have a g6e turbo & the lights are a direct fit, so I would believe

The xr6 lights would be the same.

All you will need is to modify the wiring on the new lights

& wire in 2 switching relays (1 for each light is easiest), to

Enable the low beam light to remain on when switched to

High beam, as the main lamp is now a h7 single fillament

Bulb instead of a h4 high/low.

Cheers & have fun

Thanks Mirage for your help, where did you purchase your headlights? Just from ford or another source? I'm guessing they arnt cheap, and also the switch relays to suit? Thanks :)

I paid $220+gst each light. They fit Mk1s no worries. All that needs to be added is the switching relay as mentioned above. Got mine from a auto electrician. Just wired mine up with HIDs. Very happy with the result.

It will fit but you need to buy the honeycomb absorbers on the front reinforcement as they are different.
