Well, after dealing with the first couple of scratches on the lower part of the spoilers and getting over it, I have managed to REALLY scrape up the front spoiler on the drivers side of the car. It looks pretty bad. :smilielol:

Ah, here's a pic, got a digital camera yesterday finally, may as well use it.

Scrape

What does it take to fix something like that? Do you need a whole new bumber or can they repair it?

Wondering if I should go via insurance? Luckily my NCO is untouchable.

YIKES that must hurt. I suspect the panel shop will want to replace it but I am sure it is repairable with a little sanding and some appropriate filler. Either wat a full respray is probably in order

Ouch bet that bought a tear to the eye, should be fixable by a reputable panelbeater but most these days will just want the easy fix by whacking on a new one

Most panel beaters/paint shops use a bumper replacement service, (well most that I know of) where they order a 2nd hand bumper which has been re-conditioned and good as new, they take yours off send it back to the bumper mod who repair it for the next poor bugger to scracth thier car.

then it's just a prime and paint.

I would get a quote or 2 from panel shops and compare the repair cost to the excess for your insurance, sometimes for minor things it isn't worth the hassle dealing with insurance companies.....

The white sections of the scratch will polish out, leaving two nice big deep scratches that go down to the plastic. Will tidy it up a bit.... go get some touch up paint and it will look even better.

To fix it properly, DONT get a second hand bumper. They never fit properly (trust me I was a panelbeater). :ta:

A "good" panel beater will be able to fill and sand those deep scratches, and respray the bar for you.

All these people scratching and hurting their T's, its enough to make a grown man cry...... :censored:

Tell me about it, went for a drive down to Mount Kosciuszko afterwards to cool off.

Gonna treat her to a wash now to get the bugs and stuff off.

genebaby.my SWMBO did the same thing.go to a auto paint shop get 500ml of your colour and then find Holts Spray Match shop. They put your paint in to a spray can so you fix it your self. They might even have your colour in stock.

Mine was Phantom and they didnt have it yet.

Holt lloyd Australia Pty Ltd,Castle hill NSW.

There is a pic of the can and my cars damage on here, but I cant find it. It was under the heading Damage to the turbo.

You can get plastic bumper bog as well ,its easy to do.

Cost ya $50.00 all up,panel guy quoted me over $200.00.
