XR8 with 335 S/C engine, brembo's and suspension?

Yes please!

In a way im glad they are not releasing a Hoey, that name badge deserves to be preserved as the ultimate hero badge, and not tarnished.

Seems like a stupid option, lets devalue the car back to an XR8 and try to keep selling them...

FPV is already in house and assembled on the floor why not just keep pumping them out as FPV's?....

Yeah but the whole reason they stopped making the XR8 was because the old 5.4 donkey motor couldn't pass emissions. Prodrive wouldn't give Ford the rights to drop a 5.0 SC in a Ford badged car.

Now that Ford owns FPV outright they can do whatever the bean counters say is viable. Which is probably to move as many 5.0 SC units as possible. Stickin the whine in a cheaper trimmed car will probably do this.

Think RP083 or whatever they were back in the 70s. They're are cleaning out the stock they already have.

Even IF that was true, you do realise ford has had NA 5.0s in fg's since 2009?

However, FPV didn't own the cars they sold. Ford had final say over each unit that left prodrive. I highly doubt prodrive could hold sole rights to a motor configuration in a car they don't own or have a final say over.

What I mean by the first paragraph above, is that ford have done a lot of development of their own on the 5.0. The NA 5.0 actually made awesome power. So much so that it was on par with the SC variant. Obviously it never got slotted into a car though for final production.

Ford have had a massive hand in developing 5.0 motor for our car, so they would've shared a lot of info with Prodrive and vice versa regarding the SC variant.
