So the gt will essentially be sold as a falcon xr8?

If there is a big price drop, this could be interesting.

Still, sad to see the demise of fpv.

According to drive .com the FPV range will come to an end in 2014

replacing the GT with an xr8 335sc and other GT gear.

This is a very sad day for ford if this comes to fruition.

They could have gone out with a bang bringing out the GT HO to blow Expensive Daewoo

and hsv into the abyss forever ,

COME ON FORD LIMITED EDITION GT HO 490 KW PLEASE

First thing I thought, those RSpecs will be the ones I'd like to keep.

White or blue with black stripes I think I decided on. Not that I'm buying, much like the rest of Aus...hahaha

:(

Further info from that article:

Beyond 2016, Ford will then replace the outgoing Falcon with a global product line-up which includes two variants of an all-new Mustang coupe currently under development. The entry-level pony car will be powered by a twin-turbo V6, priced from about $40,000, while the flagship will be a V8 coupe priced from about $60,000. Our source also indicated the next-generation Mustang will not be built with supercharged powerplants, thereby eliminating the likes of high-powered Shelby models in the future.

more sad news for our beloved blue oval :(

unfortunately the 5.8L 492 kw engine from the shelby gt500 will never make it into a falcon...

even something with low 400s would be great. GTHO phase 5 would be awesome...
