Try and get a new serpentine belt out of them aswell. Belts will deteriorate with oil on them. Ball bearing turbos don't need a lot of oil, and from what I can see the turbo will have plenty of oil even with that leak." Personal Opinion of-course" and I reckon the installer will say the same. Intermittent boost is unusual though. I have been told if the flapper is too big in the exhaust housing, the pressure will over come the waste gate actuator. But you should still have some boost.36mm is big enough apparently... However I know you can buy 40mm gates. Treay Member 29 Member For: 16y 4m 5d Gender: Male Location: Stockton, NSW Posted 14/07/13 09:49 PM Author Share Posted 14/07/13 09:49 PM well, hopefully the workshop will check everything over prior to giving it back to me as I'm very nervous about the situation. Apparently they know their stuff so I shouldn't have anything to worry about but I seem to have bad luck! haha.Engine bay is a little dirty hey! haha. I do between 80 - 100K kms a year spread between my cars and a lot of that driving is out bush so they tend to get a tad dirty, but I always keep the mechanicals well serviced and try to run with high quality stuff (all of them run Royal Purple oils etc.)I'm not pissed at the workshop or anything, its obviously just a badly seated seal or o-ring etc, can happen to anyone, just hope they are willing to help me out without having to fight them over it!. on the bright side, glad It played up so early in so its easy to pin point and didn't do any major damage in the process (that I know of at this point! lol)I'll let you guys know how this goes!.cheers. Treay Member 29 Member For: 16y 4m 5d Gender: Male Location: Stockton, NSW Posted 14/07/13 10:55 PM Author Share Posted 14/07/13 10:55 PM I spoke to the workshop this morning, they said if I can get the car back to them on Saturday morning they will fix the oil leak. He thinks the intermittent boost problems is something wrong with the intercooler piping. So instead of stuffing around I am going to order the Herrod and process west piping kit to have installed when I get there (at additional cost of course). So, another huge day in store for me this Friday as I am 500 odd kays from home (480 I think) and once home I'll load the car onto the trailer and get it to Sydney ready for open hours in the morning, once fixed I'll trailer it home then give it a going over to make sure its running again before my wife takes it back out west again.(Fingers crossed!)cheers. BenDoCo I'm getten too old for this s**t Bronze Donating Members 4,509 Member For: 11y 7m 22d Gender: Male Location: A big bridge over a river in South Australia Posted 14/07/13 11:51 PM Share Posted 14/07/13 11:51 PM If it were me, I would be very weary of their workmanship in the future....cause could just be stuffed from manufacturer as mentioned above.Do NSW workshops insurance enable you to go to a 'local' workshop to get it fixed at their cost as you live so far away from them and the car can't be driven with an oil leak ? Treay Member 29 Member For: 16y 4m 5d Gender: Male Location: Stockton, NSW Posted 15/07/13 02:50 AM Author Share Posted 15/07/13 02:50 AM Well, he didn't sound real keen on me taking it back at all and was trying to convince me to take it to a local workshop as he thinks it would be a very cheap fix, But I insisted on taking it back to them just in case there is more to it, that way we know that only their workshop has touched it and they can be sure it is their responsibility rather than mixing it up with a few shops and leaving it a little grey as to who may own any defects from it.Its never easy is it!.
