It would need to rev to 9 grand and be built well to have a chance at that displacement surely. I like the idea of a Miami or blower added under the bonnet!

I would like to turbo za Miami instead of blower. The blower just dont seem to have that big mid range torque hit that the 6 has with the turbo. We had 40 degrees here on the coast today and the GT felt like a pram...

Intercooled SC maybe? I do love turbo rush though, can't imagine it through a bigger capacity V8.

The new E Class AMG Mercs now have 5.5L V8 twin turbos and we've seen them out accelerate the VF GTS.It's obvious that Ford went down the S/C route because of cost.Twin turbo set up on the Coyote engine would've most likely required other components(drive train) to be strengthen because of the torque.Costs would've snowballed.

I have to say,it would've been very interesting :)

I will quote a bloke I work with.

"You could bend Rosie O'Donnel in a G Banger over the bonnet of the new Mustang and I'd still crack a half mongrel".

And I agree.. I know heaps of people will bail on ford.. But the reality is it won't cost ford anything.. They only need to import the cars in the volume they sell.. So even if they sell 20 a month.. It's still probably costing them less than if they built them in australia..

If I went out into the carpark here I could photograph about 8 VE SS commodores, 1 VF SV6, 1 VF SS.. Most of these blokes are wanting to jump to the mustang when it arrives..

If I get my hands on one,I will most surly turbocharge it.I do find that the supercharger is not producing the torque low enough in the rev range.Sure they go good but my ol BA XR6 with 315rwkw had a heaps harder torque hit then the GT has and ran 11.8,s with its eyes shut. Some thing the GT probably would not do with its current power with 350rwkw.I also find it suffers heat soak real bad as well.I do miss the turbo buzz.

I've told my dealer I want to be one of the first. I'll order it as soon as he can confirm pricing, options etc. Done deal. I would say for a nice optioned V8 hardtop about $55K. Drop top would be about 10K more at a guess. Haven't decided on hard or drop top yet. Depend on pricing and delivery. Rumour the drop top will be later than the hard top. How much later will be the issue for me.

BTW, People have deserted the Ford badge? Rubbish!
