Compression Issue?

did you take the timing case off? if not you can not check the timing accurately using the timing marks to be 100%, not saying that is or is not your problem but just making you aware

Don't know if this is a silly question but does the sump have to be removed do get the timing case off?

Yeah cool.

Guys like ratter who see these things everyday will give the best advice IMO. I didn't go squat about mine as the compression was relatively even and I don't care much for my $hitheap BA lol.

I checked a mates BF Mk2 xr6t and his was 190closed and 205open. I just wanted to get an idea of what the VCT control does open and closed throttle. So we can see there is a difference there of 15psi maybe due to the fact that having it closed also causes a vacuum. But I am getting over 45psi difference in mine, a set of locked gears are on the way and the VCT will be goneskies as of the weekend if I get the parts before Friday. Possibly why the BF model falcons don't run much timing at the top end either
