gtx3582R I have in my manual FG ute and there is bugger all lag really I am at full boost at around 2800rpm, in an Auto with load up I dont see you will have any significant lag, the GTX42 however I cannot comment on.

They arw two very different turbos mate. The 35 if you've not built your motor and only want to spend 2k max. The 42 8f your budget is 5k and a built motor.

The 42 will be about 400 - 500 rpm more laggier than the 35.

Ethanol fixes a lot if the lag these days though.

Best you set yourself a goal and budget select the right turbo from there.

Thanks for the reply's. I guess the 35 will take an engine to 550kw and I own a G6ET so there is a lot to be done to make a kinda reliable 400kw. If I am still hungry at those power figures. Then I will upgrade again. Thanks again for your input.

If I didn't mind the extra lag. Do you think putting a gtx4202r on an engine to make 500kw just for the cooler intake charge would be worth it. I could be making more power on less boost and there would be less heat in the engine bay due to the turbo not being pushed as hard. I am running a 1000hp nizpro cooler. Or do you think it would be negligible and my money would be better spent on a nice efficient turbo manifold.

Mate I think you should just go with the gtx35 and use the money you save on the 42 set up to do your tailshaft, fuel system and truetrac

Go the 35. 42 won't come into its own till over 25psi/built motor/box/ etc.

Look at the difference the GTX3582r makes to a std FG XR6 turb's?

11fins are definately better than 7...

The punch down low with a GTX3582r on a hi-mount with a big stall was quite astonishing

Of course total engine output and OMFG is one thing when the bonnet is popped.. but keeping the tailshaft/gearbox and axles in one piece is another and the wallet is going to be hit HARD !..

My tuner made over 740rwkws with a GT42 at 30psi and 810rwkws with NOS
