I did little things & as all p platers do, I got in shutup & held on. I am a member at fordmods where I picked up a lot of advice & learnt lots about fords & cars in general. The next two years the car didn't get driven heaps as I was at uni. Again, I learnt things & kept doing lots of work on the car myself. Time goes on & as happens a car gets worn out. I've slept in it on many an occasion, its taken me to places & speeds I thought I'd never see nor should at times be. Also that it has made me really enjoy getting in it every day & going places (even to work) I've driven other cars but there's something that they miss that the falcon I have gives me. Go figure. So right now I have an intermittent starting fault where the engine will crank yet not fire. I can't fault it & its getting worse. It's basically time to move it on. In the mean time I'm driving about in a faded sky blue 1989 mazda 323 EFI. Yeah, EFI gave that particular model more power!!! (yes I know I'm posting this thread on fxr6t.com) What it boils down to is the fact that the pussy magnet in both these cars are not working as maybe they once had and my minds been made up I'll get a f6 ute of some sort.I'm not really after a BA. More a BF or probably a BF2. (iirc the xr6t bf2 ran the f6 block with a different tune & turbo ratio or something for cost saving???) But what would an FG give me engine wise that I wouldn't get out of an BF? One appeal to me is the dual phase cams on the BF+ that the BA didn't get. I'd be looking for an edit at some point earlier to get a bit more torque on the low end. Other than that, the FG will cost more as it will have fewer K's & be a generally newer car.Cheers & all thoughts appreciated.Dave Edited 03/07/13 12:27 PM by FiftyOne Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/85495-hi-all-btw-im-in-the-market-for-a-new-car/ Share on other sites

I'd be buying that white FG F6 ute with 30,000kms on car sales right now. Built engine and auto. Nizpro gear. Quality car and a steal at that price. At the end of the day you need to figure out what you like the look of more. If you're comparing BF to FG they make their power slightly differently but the above models make the same amount of power.
