I've got the twin intake on my XR8 and it makes a big difference. The induction noise and exhaust noise are much better and louder too, and it won't take anymore than an hour to fit. The front bumper does not need to come off to fit the snorkel as it only needs to be pushed into the hole below the headlight. I also have a deflector shield that sits behind the grill to direct the air up into the second intake.

I dunno, I reckon gettin a K&N panel filter and making up a cold air intake like the aps job would be much more effective.

I've seen the XR8 Pod filters and I don't think they look all that...

I reckon you'd have better luck removing the air box and filter and fitting one of those Blitz SUS stainless steel filters. I hear there good for a 15hp gain.. although they filter f*ck all.

just my two cents worth

I dyno'd my car before and after I changed over air filter assemblies, and I can tell you, it is all that! I picked up more than 15hp, and my car's filtration system hasnt been compromised.

Are you still running the ford XR8 filter or have you put in the K&N or something similar? :kissmy:

Nope, no K&N for me. Might look at it in the next few months. Will certainly be dyno testing it if we do! :kissmy:

If you got more then 15hp with any form of filter replacement it was worth it.

do you have a picture of what the airbox looks like now and where you've pumped the cold air duct?

15hp for $350 (using GT-Ps dual setup) not bad value at all considering it has basiclaly zero effect on warranty, insurance, driveability and infringementability....

It's great mate, and the only DRAMA FREE mod I've undertaken to this stage. If MS700 got 15 hp without a K&N then you could see 3 - 4 more with it
