Hello Forum,

Ive got a 2012 FG2 Xr6T which has the touchscreen ICC without camera and without NAV.. so all that the lovely touchscreen does really is play music and tell you the temperature outside....seems such a waste and almost pointless to have it..when it could do so much more...

Is their a way to add to what we can use it for ?

I heard that it is a locked system...sumitomo?...can anyone expand on this please ?

can it be replaced with an aftermarket screen/ICC? ..overlays??...

Of course Id like to get Video/DVD playback, reverse camera, NAV...car PC..anything we could do to improve over stock

Cheers

I would also like to know a little about the new ICC's. Are there 2 ICC systems, one with Nav another without? Surely not I would think. If not how are ford adding nav.

yes please....Anyone know the tech side of these units ?

I cant believe there could be two stock ICC units one with Nav and one without...I assume nav is a gps module plugin and a software addon to the same ICC.. assume the same could be for the reversing camera ? ....there must be just one ICC unit..or is there !??

Im happy to pay to get more ICC options to the stock unit if its at all possible.

Difficult without the electrical diagrams and parts list to find out the answers... I hear that the workshop manual is only available to mechanics at 1k and then Im not sure if it covers the ICC.

If someone has some knowledge please do share. :lookaround:

I believe ASL Automedia are currently working on additional extras for the FG MKII ICC. Haven't heard anything about it for a while though.

I would love it if we could get an adaptor/module to play video from iPod through the screen via the integrated USB socket.

Is there anyone here that knows more about this?

hey guys ASL media arent going ahead with anything for the MK2 anymore. to many technical issues apparently.. I have a MK2 and have spent alot of money on my stereo already and it was hard to get the most out of the ICC, I had to fit an Audison Bit 10 to get the best possible sound out of it even though I had Hertz speakers all round, tweeters, 2 x 12" subs 3 x amps. you can get colour & satnav fitted to the existing unit through ASL but they arent bringing out anything in regards to a replacement unit unfortunately

I have a mk2 with a reverse camera.

So if iam understanding this correctly, asl can supply a satnav solution for the existing icc? Is it a touch screen system?

Looks like it is only an option for the mk1 and not mk2. ASL have confirmed they do not have a solution for the mk2

Correct, ASL do not offer a Sat Nav for the FG2. From what I can see the Top half of the ICC unit (the screen) is locked and has Sat Nav as part of the hardware. There is no sat nav unit located behind the glovebox anymore.

The short of it is that the only way to get Nav is to swap te screen part of the unit over. Fortunately it is plug and play, no need to visit Ford for them to configure it for your vehicle.

Unless someone whats to start playing around with the Screen and hack it, its unlikely to be useable for anything else.
