I took my car to dealer for warranty work and they fixed what they said was leak from timing cover.I picked car up and noticed new spot on garage floor the following morning. Its been at Ford last 2 days and they are now saying its leaking from head area but will fill me in more on Monday.Below is a pic I got last weekend when it was up on hoist. Not sure how serious it is but I bet they will do all they can to get out of paying. Its a dealer warranty and not Ford as its a 08 model

They said that the leak is coming from above the timing case cover,I just want it fixed so I can drive the car without leaks:)

have you had a look from the top around the head and cam covers to see if its a gasket up top? Is the car still with ford?

The car is still with the dealer so I havent had good chance to have a look.Ive got a Territory courtesy car so ill be keeping that till mines sorted

Fraud is now saying they reckon I've blown head gasket, don't know how they came to that conclusion. Not sure if they actually even looked at car today but its under warranty so not too worried at moment

My near new FGXR6T also has a oil leak coming from the right side, mid level front ---back of the timing cover- I have taken to a Ford dealer for them to check out.

They said that the leak is coming from above the timing case cover which requires dismantling front of the engine.

My concern that they will introduce more problems due the amount of engine components that have to be removed to enable them to reseal the timing case.

Since this is a common issue with the FG's, has anyone else had a fully sucessful repair done to fix this leak. I was thinking about just putting up with and keep wiping it every month or so.?

Thanks for the reply Pazzo, that is reassuring. I have had a few bad repairs done by Expensive Daewoo in the past on my V8 under warranty, so I am very cautious they may introduce other problems to a perfectly good motor.
