It's common in the zfs, mine use to do it all the time with anything over 63/6500rpm.The passes you've done don't show anything as far as potential power, get some descent tyres and string a full pass together. A massive burnout isn't always the answer you can over cook a set of tyres which is just as bad as under doing it maybe even more dangerous. It worked!! and I ran two more runs,and its fine now, gotta like that. Apart from the Drags I don't do burnouts, so it doesn't hit the limiter so you are most likely correct there, I have been known to spin the wheels whilst doing about 100kph on a private tarred farm road! More power will only make it go into limp mode more often if it is an issue.
