Hey Guys

Finally got me first bit of work done to my ford f6 ute, and im very happy

Saw Bruce from Heinrich performance in Adelaide (the apparent Ford guru)

Pretty basic, it had a K&N filter in already, put a hi flo cat in and had the xcal 3 custom tune and Bruce modded the airbox slightly (larger hole made in bottom of box) and it came out with 353 rwkw very happy

From what I have read, Bruces dyno runs a little high, but still, the power difference is VERY noticable

Went from 8pound boost to 17 now, pulls much harder, spools louder and even makes more of BOV noise on gear change (some find it tacky but im loving it now!)

Now im hooked and look forward to doing more mods down the track!

Only downside, Bruce said my f6 has the dodgy valve springs that a batch of the F6s have, so sometimes when hitting redline/wheel spinning, when you change gears it goes a bit underpowered and you need to release the throttle for a couple of seconds, any advice for this new valve springs?

G'day BJ, I have my f6 going in for a similar mods in a weeks time, what year is your f6 ? I am now concerned about my own valve springs from what I have read I thought the fg's were sorted. can you scan in your dyno sheet so I can have a look ? what torque are you now producing ? do you know what power/Nm your car was producing before the mods ?

whats next in the way of mods

Howdy mate

Only took a photo of the dyno on my I phone, didnt get a glimpse at the torque measures I just wanted to get in and drive the thing!

Mine is a 2010 model and has ford badge on steering wheel, not fpv badge, I think this differs the euro 3 from 4? could be wrong?

So much more fun now, feels almost more controllable when wheelspinning too which is odd

Bruce has an f6 and he said his is also apart of the unlucky batch

Good work mate!

you'll be opting for more power very soon!

As for Bruce's dyno. anything under 400kw, it read's pretty much spot on. Even over 400, J@'s F6 made 430 on bruce's and 412 I think on Mick's Dyno (pit lane) so to be honest, it's stuff all difference when you're pushing that much power!

spend the coin and do your springs mate, then you can make boost your bitch.

I'm going to get oil pump gears done before springs (manual ute) just for piece of mind

then the springs and hopefully get into the 400kw mark.

Nice work with your 350+kw

Thanks Chaos

Sorry to be a newbie but what should I be looking at for valve springs? $, one brand better than another?

Now next mods to aim for.....

Im open to suggestions lol

about 1300 supplied and fitted for valve springs, there are a few options out there... Just find the ones your tuner likes to use and then research them to see if anyone has had bad times with them and go from there. I think atomic do 3 different types, crow do some, then rapids and a few others have some options.

... seeing how the intake will be off while they do the springs, you may as well yoink the turbo out and get it modified as well. Ask if they have good exchange units to minimise time on the job (or supply a modified housing).. in goes a set of ID1000 injectors, bolt in a surge tank (will not give power but its more for insurance of engine and fuel delivery) and you'll be up around the 400kw mark.. fun times
