Well, pulled over for the first time in the T last night after dropping a mate home...our 'friend' in blue lit me up and pulled me over...hhmmmm was probably speeding but when asked "why do you think I pulled you over?" I answered "well, I wasn't speeding and I didn't break any road rules, so a routine vehicle inspection?".

"out of the vehicle please sir" was his response.

At this point I was kinda worried coz he hadn't requested my licence and/or rego, half expecting him to ask me to 'spread em' I was starting to regret my semi-smart ar$e initial comment.

He walked me to the rear of the car, and what a sexy ar$e it is..."what's wrong with this picture" he said.

To my relief I saw my rear licence plate was dangling, the left screw had popped out of its housing, scratching my bumper a little made me a touch unimpressed mind you.

Anyway, to sum up, I popped it back in and he sent me on my way, after quizing me about the performance hahaha they love 'em, the highway boys at my local station have one that they thoroughly thrash and he said they virtually fight over it - loves it.

While I have your attention, anyone have the problem of the rear screw housing working its way loose under the plate??? To be more precise, the screw and housing pops out...

:innocent:

No problems here with any loose screws.

This is the reason why you never buy at police auctions.......

yep, had the same problem.

yep one of my companies XR6NA's had it happen twice. Once for each side. At least they didn't both go at the same time and loose the plate.

Exactly. Anything that even has the word Police remotely attached to it should be avoided like the plague, unless you can prove it was a highway car or the like as their vehicle sympathy is fair bit better than us GDs blokes. Never buy an old GDs car.

We do the 100 ser Landcruisers here at work, they would be a good buy I reckon. You cant really thrash a S.A.R car (although im sure the feds would find a way!), they get them equipped with winches, air lockers, upgraded Old Man Emu suspension, and maybe roof racks?

These would be rare as rocking horse id say. :( Not many in the ACT.

:smilielol:

I just had the screw come out, the housing bit was still there. THe screws they used at the dealer to put the plates on were only just long enough to bite into the housing, I just bought some slightly longer ones and problem fixed.
