Guest JCV8 Guests Posted 25/03/03 01:13 PM Share Posted 25/03/03 01:13 PM As a guide, I got AU2 front slotted rotors for $132 per side - I would imagine that the new BA ones should be around the same? And they made a huge difference to my car. They work well with the standard pads, or you could try Bendix Advance.I also had shuddering from about 38000km and one lot of machining done - as soon as the shuddering started again, I replaced the discs (at 67000km). I feel like slaging the dealer out on this forum but they mightnt want to ever sponser this site. sponsers are inportent!!! In my personal experience if they are warped once, they will warp again. It must have something to do with the grade of metal used in the discs???? but I don't know.Anyway, mine was machined, and the problem has come back much, much worse!I'd advise anyone to really put their own brakes through a thorough test. I tow a boat, and haven't yet had the pleasure, or pain, to tow it with the BA down any steep hills. Given this situation with the brakes, I am VERY concerned to say the least Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/851-disks-warping-why-how-often/page/3/#findComment-14673 Share on other sites

This problem needs to get to the top of Ford management asap, and they need to respond to us and all other BA owners, with a solution. Can Forum management get this to Ford Australia??? This really does suck, and to make it worse I've just driven home from picking the car up and there's still a squeal in there somewhere! Guest JCV8 Guests Posted 02/04/03 01:33 PM Share Posted 02/04/03 01:33 PM By the time you've taken it back to the dealer a few times, you could buy yourself the DBAs and get on with the enjoyment of the car. Plus the DBAs will be better than standard Ford discs anyway - even if you do get the standard ones 'fixed' to your satisfaction.
