No hard evidence that I've seen yet.http://wardsauto.com/news-amp-analysis/zf-has-latest-killer-app-transmissionZF says the new 6 HP 28 can handle engines with a torque output of up to 553 lb.-ft. (750 Nm), which covers a wide range of large-displacement gasoline and diesel engines.

They are nice and smooth but boring after a while.

But I spend most of my time driving on roads marked at 80+ Klm/hr Edited 03/06/13 05:54 AM by AussieCJ7

Manual's use less fuel too.

If you can change quick enough you'll kill the autos thru the twisties anyway as they are so much more predictable.. The manuals are fairly bullet proof too + the new box sees a few more synchros too. I think it boils down to what kind of driver you want to be. Good luck!! Edited 12/06/13 07:13 AM by ANGEL#

The auto was a fair bit quicker as it was always on boost - manual seemed to loose a bit on gear changes. Probably less of an issue with the smaller turbo on an xr but if straight line acceleration is something you're interested in then the auto would still come up trumps comfortably. Both will destroy diff bushes, but be prepared to change them more often in a manual. If you plan on modding it and launching it hard then plan on spending some money on a stronger clutch. Does happen with the autos as well from what I read but generally only in cars with 350rwkw+ (& huge torque) as well as a fair number of runs on the strip.I went the auto and haven't regretted in yet
