I recently replaced the center differential bushing a week or so ago & since I have realised slight vibration noises when slowing down as the automatic transmission shifts down a gear & also some harsh thump noises when I'm in tip-tronic mode either shifting up or down most of the time. Now I knew replacing it with a solid bushing will create either noises or vibrations but is it normally this bad as it sounds like there is something wrong under the car?

All work carried out has been tripple checked so nothing has been left loose for that matter. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :crazypilot:

I have searched the forums & came to the conclusion it was all because of the solid differential bush but I'm just looking for a second opinion if someone could please as I may be wrong..

Hard to comment on without hearing/feeling the noise but sometimes if the front bushes on the diff (pinion mounting) are soft it can cause the diff to "nose up" and thud

Depending on brand there should be no specific tool Mick, the side bushes will keep the diff located

not quite correct Pat, we have seen 2 rear cradles that have been damaged by people using a rather large hammer to insert the bush, it pushes the tower forward quite a way and causes harshness through the car, both cradles require replacement.

LOL, yeah I suppose that would cause an issue...

Whats that old saying? "Whenever man makes something idiot proof, along comes nature with a better idiot..."
