I bought myself a early Xmas pressie, a silver edition hero3 Gopro.

Good bit of gear, can use it for nearly anything and has a bucket load of different mounting options for whatever you like to use it for.

I use mine mostly on the car. I bought one of the suction cap jiggers so I can use it on the outside of the car.

The problem I am having is It picks up a lot of wind noise, doesn't matter what rear cover Is on the camera its the same.

I mount it on the front drivers door just under the mirror pointing back to get the rear wheels in the shot.

Just wondering where others mount theirs on the car and what's the best place you have found for wind noise?

I usually mount mine just behind the rear wheel on the back bumper. Looks good when doing skids or stalling it up (e.g at the drags) . I've experimented a fair bit and its almost impossible to eliminate the wind noise at speed unless you have one of those fluffy mic things you can plug in. Love my GoPro :)

I looked at putting it there on the bumper, does it get much movement from the bumper moving?

I've seen footage of it mounted infront of the rear wheel pointing back, looks good if doing powerskids and the wind noise seems to be less there.

I mounted mine in the rear quarter.. Buy a spare case and tap a whole into the mic socket.. Run a two metre 3.5mm male to 3.5mm female into the mic socket.. Sticky tape it down the car and into the boot.. Plug in a set of decent ear buds with foam covers and mounted them securely to the carpet in the car.. This picked up pretty good exhaust noise.. One of my mates actually hung his ear buds right above the exhaust with tape.. Worked awesomely.. Just make sure they have foam covers.

Really good idea, seems like a good way to get some sound.

Would you need the adapter to change it from the mini USB plug on the gopro to a 3.5mm headphone jack?
