Hi I've not long found the site and so far I'm impressed! I only got this thing 2 weeks ago so I'm still finding out what's been done to it. Atm I know it's got a twin mandrel bent exhaust, lowered, with Lovell springs, cross drilled and slotted rotors all around, new black 19" avanti wheels, fpv typhoon intercooler and its been flash tuned and is now running 10psi. I've noticed a bit of clutch slip in 5th so that's the first thing on my list! I also want to upgrade the fuel pump and throw some 60lb injectors in it, is there any way of telling if the injectors have been replaced because like I said I'm unsure of what else has been done? Also a bigger intercooler is on my list, and maybe get a tune with the boost set to 12psi, the colour is phantom but seems to look more blue from my phone pics for some reasonpost-65594-136965798097_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965800665_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965806138_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965808882_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965811421_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965813083_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965815714_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965817935_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965819786_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965821888_thumb.jpgpost-65594-136965826202_thumb.jpg

Ill post better pics and more info as I get it

I've also always been a Expensive Daewoo person but always had a soft spot for the xr6 turbo. I had a spare gq patrol sitting around and got offered a swap for the xr6 I have now and thought it was time for a new project lol

Phantom is an awesome colour, good choice. The pod filter is aftermarket as well, being exposed like that isn't a great idea as you will get hotter air being drawn into the engine especially at idle or stop start driving, maybe not so bad when above 60kmh. Did it come with an XCAL flash box? Is the 10PSI tune a generic that comes with the box or is it a custom tune? I'd recommend getting it checked over by a reputable tuner in your area.

Is it a five speed manual? If so they break very easily so watch out.

Take a close up good focus picture of the injectors and post it up, someone might be able to tell just by looking if they are Siemens Deka 60lb. If they are green they are Bosch 42lb. Also that little air filter on the BOV at the rear of the engine isn't factory, I take it the thing has been blocked up to improve the flutter sound?

Watch out with cross drilled rotors as they often develop cracks between the holes. When you replace them go for dimpled and/or slotted only.

But yeah take it to a tuner who knows these cars inside out (check site sponsors) as they will be able to answer your questions 100% and advise on what needs doing to reach whatever power goals you have. Enjoy it and watch out in the wet!

Oh and that's not the factory bonnet of course either, is it a genuine steel one?

Yeah mate it's genuine, guy reversed into it with a 4x4 before I got it so he upgraded it with the xr8 bonnet along with new hinges and bar etc, still had the factory stickers on everything. Was only really damage caused by the tow bar m, nothing major. I'm getting the standard air box cover tomorrow so was thinking of modifying it to fit the pod inside.other then that ill just chuck a k&n panal filter in. What colour should the standard injectors be or are there any seriel numbers on them where I could tell?

Oh sorry yeah I also got the hand controler for the tune and was told it was done on a dyno and saved into it so if I wanted to return it to stock settings I could and still be able to change it back anytime. And yeah I've noticed how much fun these can be and loose in the wet after I started getting wheel spin in 5th in the wet. Something my previous Holdens couldn't do lol

Pod in box should avoid a sticker, good one. Factory injectors are black but I'm not good enough to tell them by sight.

Sounds like it might have a proper custom tune already, any idea who tuned it?

Nah mate wouldn't have a clue hey. Ill be looking for someone around Newcastle after I do a few things to it to get retuned. Found out the injectors are blue Bosch 27lb injectors which really surprises me because of the power difference between stock and the 10psi tune. Think an upgrade may be in order. I thought they came with bigger injectors when there stock

Hah I could be wrong, factory might be blue :) Got mine in a bag around here somewhere...anyway you need bigger ones...but that gearbox might stop the fun before injector limit anyway if it's 5 speed?

Had an expensive week! Clutch started to slip so rather then stuff around with it I out a new one in and did the centre bearing while I had the tail shaft out. Worst part was undoing the top startermotor bolt, what a sh*t design that is! Also got rid of the black 19's and put some chrome 20's on itpost-65594-137203363543_thumb.jpgpost-65594-137203366593_thumb.jpg
