According to the rates listed on the net, a studio apartment is $130 and an Executive Apartment with 2 separate bedrooms is $215.

So some people might want to consider sharing for the convenience of a bit of luxury........ :baby:

I'm even going to start trying to get people of the 2watt stuff, and go for a 5watt hand held or in-car.

Better range, better quality transmission, and option of a private channel.

I'll just leave a bit earlier and go up the Clyde, Princess, then up through Kanga Valley, through to Sutton Forest Shell.

If I get there early enough I might have to go through Jambaroo and Macquarie :D

Not sure about the cotters detour.

I was trying to keep the Saturday as short as possible (for those with domestic responsibilities), but if the interest is there then why not. I dont know the ACT very well (I know how to get through on my way to the snow ) but if you want to organise a meeting place for us New South Welshmen to lead us through to the Monaro Hwy then bring it on.

If anyone has objections to a 50min detour though canberra speak up, I dont mind either way.

If the cottor detour will make the sydneysider trip "loong" maybe just have the Canberra drivers use it as a refresher before meeting up with the sydney siders. A 2 hour drive from canberra to Jyndabyne is just too short.

I will be going for a cruise through cottor tomorrow to see how road work has progressed (the cottor is officially reopening to the public on Australia Day). Most of the roadworks may be complete by March.

On the question of which way you will be going, will the Sydneysider cruise through Canberra On Northbourne Avenue (maybe fill up with optimax at either the Gateway shell or Dickson shell), turning left at the ABC set of lights (forgot the street name) then right on Limestone avenue driveing past the war memorial, (maybe go up Mt ainsle which is just past the war memorial for a group photo with Canberra as a backdrop) towards the airport then take a right towards the monaro highway.

Or maybe do the Majura drive detour with will avoid some lights and basically take you past the airport and a little right then left toward the monaro highway. For people needing to fillup with optimax, there is a shell servo in Fyshwick. Basically a left into Fyshwick then the first right will get you to the Shell servo. Getting out of the servo go left and following the road will get you back onto the monaro highway.

Any decisions on meeting places for the Canberrans and Sydney siders to meet up? Dickson Shell servo has some parking on an off street (which seems to be the meeting place for some other car enbthusiasts on the odd Sunday). Fyshwick Shell servo has quite a bit of parking on an adjoining street. Even the Gateway servo has plenty of parking (behind the defunct diner especially).

Just thinking about it a bit, maybe mt ainslie as a meeting point. If taking the Majura drive route it's only a 2 minute drive out of the way. Only takes about 1 minute to get to the top Heaps of parking (dependent on tourists ofcourse)

Anyways... Looking forward to the trip.

From speaking to Trumpy, I think we're going to go down Majura past the airport then onto the Monaro Hwy.

Trumpy I think Krash's idea on the Fyshwick Shell is a good meeting point.

It's just 1 min off the Monaro Hwy.

Gives us a chance to get some fireworks anyway :D

Krash, I'll be comming from Canberra as well, and will be doing a bit of a longer windy cruise and meet up with the Sydney Convoy half way to Canberra.

Any Canberrians are welcome to come along.

And I dont know if Tumut could handle the excitement of seeing a line of colourful (except HgAg) cars come through. The residents would go crazy.

We'd be arrested for disturbing the peace. Best to steer clear of Tumut I think.

Yeh count me and the mistress in. Tumut should be able to handle the excitement, I'll just let the Mayor know we're coming so he can adjust the Population Sign for 10 mins or so.

Are you talking about the Shell near the summernats? I wouldnt imagine that any of us Sydney people would need fuel at that point, but is probably as good a point as any to meet up. The other option would be to meet at the service centre just before Majura Rd (Eaglehawk??), as its very easy to get to majura rd from there.
