At the very least and I mean VERY LEAST get a 2watt Uniden UH-044XR.

Go see James or Chadi at Dick Smith Powerhouse Bankstown and tell em Ivan with the XRT sent ya.

$130 down from $168.

Rang the store, spoke to James. Seems that James doesn't remember Ivan too well (or his XR6T). I hate that.

I suggested that he should sell me one of the units for $130. He said "get f*cked". I said "I wish".

He asked "how many you want?" I said "one". He said "you can still get f*cked".

He said " I can do it for $130 if you buy 2 of them" I said "now YOU can get f*cked".

Best he can do for 1 unit is $155.

I'll talk to the missus and see what she thinks.

Honest Gaza

And what will you do if she tells you to get f*cked??? :finger:

Sorry about this Gazza, I'll give James a call today and get this sorted out.

I haven't bought anything from them in a while cause of the move and this would explain a lot...

Last post on this I swear

Cro, a thousand thanks.

I had a poke around last night in the back of the car, I was thinking of using the 12V DC line on the sub amp, it seems to be there until the car shuts itself down after 5 minutes of being locked. Although I think I'd prefer the idea of tapping off the Mobile phone socket in the back of the fuse box. Seeing as I have to run the head cable that shouldnt be a prob.

I've mounted the unit up under where the sat nav would be so that people cant see where it is, and mounted the arial on the boot..... Just gotta run the two cables to the front of the car now.

Trumpy, Might wanna copy these posts to another thread and make it a sticky for the cruises part of the forum?

Thanks for your help guys.

I'll be there for certain now as well, with or without the Mishy!

If you are looking for info on finding power from the mobile socket, check this thread

Good idea on combining all of the cb info into a new topic, will look into it.

Would like to publicly thank Cro for his follow-up on this matter. He spoke to the Manager at DSE and told him not to f*ck with members of the XR6Turbo Website.

A long story which I cannot tell as I don't wish to bore you all to death.

Again....my thanks to Cro.

I've gotta be the first to say this ;)

Well, I met up with the other T drivers at the Shell meeting spot here in Canberra. The funniest thing happened. There were T's parked on an off street and there were cars parked at the servo and cars getting their topup of Optimax. Then there was the biggest sh*t heap of a crummydore VR coming out of the servo. He drives onto the off street with a little screech of the tyres, then get's stopped by the traffic lights to turn left onto a main stretch. I, and many of the other couldn't help but look when we heard screeching and the dumb crummydore driver lost it and almost hitting a gutter to his left. He stopped and was 90 degrees to the left curb. He then had to do a "3 point turn" to get going again. We all couldn't help but laugh and cheer at the dumbo. Pretty funny.

Anyways.

If there are any other Canberrans going to the Snowy tomorrow (Sunday) I will be at the Shell Servo, in Fyshwick, near the shell depo (basically the same meeting spot as today) at 6:20 am or thereabouts. I will wait until about 6:30am, then make my way to the main snowy cruise meeting spot at Jindabyne. Ross (Falcoon) told me that there will be another T driver waiting along the way (YCL I think).

Again..

CANBERRA SUNDAY DRIVERS

-----------------------------------

- MEET SHELL SERVO IN FYSHWICK, NEXT TO THE SHELL DEPO (SAME MEETING SPOT AS THE SATURDAY DRIVERS).

- MEET AROUND 6:20am

- WILL LEAVE AT 6:30am OR THEREABOUTS
