I think the shopping centre you are refeering to is Called Nuggets Crossing? Is that right?

Nope, not Nuggets. The original one, across the road from the park. Its the first one on the left on the way into Jindabyne.

@ Trumpy

At this time it looks like I'll be a Sunday driver. Will be certain by the weekend, but put me down as a Sunday for now.

Trumpy

I'm going to be a sunday drive as well.

Trumpy....is it possible to set up a private messaging area where we can leave our Mobile numbers (and note down other people's mobile numbers ), so that we have some contact points if anything should happen on the day....or get delayed on arrival.

I dont think we can set up a private area, and I dont want to post my number up on the net (not sure about anyone else).

If anyone wants my number, in case your running late to one of the meet point, just pm me. Otherwise my mobile will be on the sheet given out on the day.

The touristy stuff at M1 Powerstation (Khancoban) was recently done up and would be a great place to stop for photos.

I used to work for Snowy Hydro so I have driven that route a few...... THOUSAND times :eyebrows: but it will be more fun in a T than a Rav4 or a Diesel Patrol. ;)

YCL, where exactly is the power station? Last time I did the loop, I remember there was a tourist stop on the right just before going down the hill into Khancoban. I think it was Murray Pond, and had a view of the hydro pipes etc. Is this where you are talking about? Or is the power station somewhere else?

I havent finalised the morning stop yet, but one of these would be good.

No shops there though, but everyone can bring food and drink with them from the Jindabyne shops.

All of the other planned stops have shops etc.

Yes that is the place, on the Alpine way about 10 min (best time 4m33s  ) from Khancoban township.

On the rhs of the road where the 3 pipelines (2 large 1 smaller) come down the hill and bifurcate (split) and become 10 pipelines one for each of the ten generators.

There is a bigger car park at the top of the hill and a tourist shack, down at the station, but not out in the street... ;)

There is a small supermarket in Khancoban that also sells sambo's and pie's etc...

I have just been speaking to Alpine Gables, and the Brumby Bar and Bistro is open. That is their on-site bar and restaurant. It is probably as good a place as any for a feed and a few drinks, as the Bowling Club is probably a 15 minute walk from the accomodation.

Usual bistro fare (steaks, chicken schnitzel etc) so most should be happy. This is a good place for those that want to get together and have a meal and a few drinks, otherwise there is plenty of other restaurants around for those that want to explore.
