I moved to Bega, so I'm actually CLOSER to Jindabyne!. Thanks Matty Boy Matey Ole Pal O' Mine. Can we go through Tumut? Can we Can we?So are you coming or not?And I dont know if Tumut could handle the excitement of seeing a line of colourful (except HgAg) cars come through. The residents would go crazy. We'd be arrested for disturbing the peace. Best to steer clear of Tumut I think. Yeh count me and the mistress in. Tumut should be able to handle the excitement, I'll just let the Mayor know we're coming so he can adjust the Population Sign for 10 mins or so.Rob

Mobile coverage is a bit patchy around the back of the range, and it will be easy to stay in contact.I know a lot of people have a UHF already, those that dont can you try to borrow one, or even pick up a cheap hand held. Cro used to be able to get very good prices from a local supplier so it may be worth asking.I've found best/cheapest place to get them is Dick Smith. The have Uniden Hand-Held Communicator on spec at the moment Not 1 But 2 Has 40 CB Channels and a 3km Range $99.86http://www.dicksmith.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefrontDon't bother Falchoon, those won't get you 500metres, let alone 3kms.Trust me I have done my home work.If anyone wants a cheap CB email me at cro@fordxr6turbo.com or call me if you know my number.I buy equipment from Dick Smith Powerhouse in Bankstown at $1 or $2 above cost price.Edit:Check out the Recommended Retail Price on all of them, you'll be pleasantly suprised :DThis CB for $130 (UH-044XR)http://dseau.resultspage.com/search.php?p=...06e6&method=andThis CB is for $330 (UH-052XR)http://www.uniden.com.au/v3/catalogue.asp?...Group=2&Range=8This CB is for $380 (UH-013)http://dseau.resultspage.com/search.php?p=...0707&method=andAll these come with a reciept from Dick Smith and full manufacturers warranty. In other words fully ledgit.

I'll double check part # when I get home (probably different! ). No disrespect to you intended Ivan.

It is UH-040XR. Several other forum members have the same handset.

Lifetime Members 1,605 Member For: 22y 2m Gender: Male Location: Steel City, NSW Posted 22/01/04 11:07 PM Author Share Posted 22/01/04 11:07 PM I have a bit of info regarding accomodation. At this point I have info on 3 different places, that are all close by (on opposite corners of the same roundabout).Jindabyne holiday park is a caravan park with on-site vans etc.Alpine Gables is across the road, it is a nice place (I have stayed there before in winter) that has a restaurant / bar as part of the complex.Horizon's resort is probably the flashest place in Jindabyne for those that prefer a bit of luxury. These are all very close to the centre of town and are right on the lake.I can find info on other lodges etc if needed, but they may not be as close as these 3 venues. Lifetime Members 1,605 Member For: 22y 2m Gender: Male Location: Steel City, NSW Posted 22/01/04 11:22 PM Author Share Posted 22/01/04 11:22 PM Sorry, first post edited. We are locked in to the 13/14 march, accomodation required for Saturday 13 March only.I will also put up some info tomorrow for 'lodge' style accomodation. I have brochures for 2 that I have stayed in before. They are a small distance from the town centre (maybe 1 km) but are nice places, and probably cheaper than Alpine Gables.
