I think to be viable it would probably have to be a public day, at least first time around. Many (including myself) seem to not really know like a month before at best, and I think people are going to be a bit hesitant to commit if they're unsure.

I reckon we can still make a thing of it on a public day, Just gotta make the 6T turnout better than everything else

So how about we organise a public day that might suit everyone and just try and organise everyone as best we can?

Been thinking along the same line this arvo Bellato. Pick a date and that's it Public Track Day. We still can have a fun day, Faster time etc etc and maybe even a trophy to NSW or ACT for something.

I'll make the changers soon.

Speed of the Streets days are always good for beginners.

They are pretty casual but there's no briefing, so you are pretty much thrown in the deep end with a big speed difference between road registered cars.

Plenty of dates:

Circuit club is great if you're chasing an official lap time in a road registered car as they have Natsoft timing.

Last time I went their I had a boost leak dynoed later at under 200rwkw, so I am keen to redeem myself June 10th! :)

Here's a rough idea of laptimes at the Circuit club days. Most cars are heavily modified for the circuit though.

On the Turbo Taxi day, I reckon timing may have to be kept quiet if it's a Public day.

I use Race Chrono with a 5Mhz GPS receiver via Bluetooth.

Will work with any old Nokia phone or similar.

Harry's Lap timer also works on Iphone.

now for the #1 question weekday or weekend

I think having it weekday you will get these car than to going on the weekend. Also there are very little public track days on weekends.

After having a good look I have come up with, for us to have the day on Friday 12th July. Friday good day to take ADO/Rostered day off work.

12th looks good for me at his stage! Definitely like a weekday better, more chance the track won't be too busy, no garantee though.

My first outing I did 1:19 but was being a major pussy, second time out I did a high 1:16 and there's definitely more in it, hopefully a second or two. Still stock but DBA 4000 T3s, dot 5.1 brake fluid and ebc reds (will be blues this time since I destroyed them at the track last time lol). Everyone make sure your cars are in top shape and ready, serviced, tyres brakes etc.

Ill bring my gopro, be the first time I've used it at the track, and as nelsonian said Harry's lap timer on the iPhone is awesome works, and that's what I've used, very awesome. Might link in to my obd 2 dongle too.
