There have been a few "winge" posts lately.

No critisim meant however 'cause it is very anoying for the individuals concerned. I hope that FOMOCO sort out their greivances soon.

That said, I do not believe they are representative of the majority of cars out there.

What do you folks think?

If I missed an obvious poll answer let me know and I'll add it in :D

Rattles, squeaks, f*cked brakes, downright dangerous at over 200kph, and costs too much to extract the potential. Weak valve springs, new tyres that seperate, hunting on idle (when the car feels like it), trans is crap, and a computer with a mind of it's own. If I had have known these things I would have gone for the XR8, if I spent $7000 playing with that I'm sure that I would have a fast car  :banghead: Still when they are going right they are fun to drive. In hindsight, would I buy another? NO! :pinch:

Despite a few minor glitches ie. Shudder , coolant leaking( all fixed by dealers) this is the best car I have had this includes a number of DDoors , Stock Falcons and an XR6.

Only good thing about going to work is driving my T there and back.

These beasts are also comfortable and a lot of fun for long haul touring.

Buy another ......... yeah

When I walk to where the car is parked, I stop and look at it.

When I park the car, I can't help but turn around and look at it.

I look forward to a drive and drive for no other reason than to drive.

Am I happy?

Hell yes.

Hey, that's exactly what I was going to say ;)

I have had the odd minor issue but they were so minor, I don't even remember what they were ;)

Certainly the best car I've had, and quite reliable for me. 12500km's and going strong ;) *touch wood*

Sorry to hear you are so disapointed....you are aware that much of the running gear on the XR8 is the same as the "T" so the rattles, squeaks etc would surely end up the same. As for spending 7K on an XR8 after spending the the 5K extra on the cars to start... :pinch: I donot believe you would get the same bang for buck that you will get from spending half that amount on the "T".

BTW check the Ford web site, the standard XR8 brakes are the same as the "T" and the car is at least 50kg heavier :o

Hypnodoc:

I am unsure of what you are expecting from this car. 7k will give you 330KW.

Dont expect it to be a great handler at 200 KPH . Not much is. This is actually a strange comment unless you plan to race the car.

You could have spent some money on brakes. I did and it was worth it.

I think its a good car for the money and potentially far faster than the Xr8. Its too heavy.

Cost too much to develop?. Better read this months motor mate.

If you want to hunt done much more you better go looking for an M3 or M5.........
