Hey folks probably not the right place to post this so my apologies in advance.

My 2009 FG F6 with the 6 speed ZF trans likes to stall out on me when coming to a stop.

Dosnt happen all the time but happens once or twice on a 20 min drive through town.

Car is X cal 3 tuned with supporting mods making around 520rwhp.

Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

There is a FG stalling problem thread that this should be combined with.

I used to have this problem but not sure how I fixed it or if its really fixed but hasn't stalled for ages.

I did find that my throttle plate was misalligned and would stick closed. Found this only after I bought another second hand throttle body. I did fix the throttle plate alignment by unscrewing the screws enough to reallign the plate and retighten. You just need to back off the screws a little to reallign.

But I put the new T/B in and it certainly did improve something but maybe wasn't entirely the issue as it did stall under one particular condition but rarely.

I then disconnected the power steering switch plug (located close to the pump) as I heard this can cause issues. You cant buy this special switch (its not really a switch in the strict sense), it only comes with the hose at $263. So I just left it unplugged. It did raise the idle about 100 rpm but I have had no stalling at all since.

Previously when I raised the idle via the ECU it would still stall.

So try disconnecting the power steering switch and just see how you go. Please report back as a few have had this problem and we are trying to narrow it down.

Ford do sell the power steer switch separately now - not just with the whole hose kit at like $265 trade!

Mine developed a leak over the weekend and have had a slight pulse at no load idle on and off. New switch has fixed both issues :)

Cost me $19.36 trade price today. Fitted in 10 minutes - easy as.

Iirc the p/s only bumps idle up 50rpm, mine let go along time back a bolt now lives in its place

This sounds like the t/b needs a good clean and go from there

What fuel pump are you running and how much fuel pressure? I recently had problems with my new surge and ID1000's. Had 100psi at idle and was causing the car to stall once warm, possibly something to look into, dropped it down to 55psi with a turbosmart fuel reg and so far so good for now
