In the market to buy an already tweaked unopened vehicle. From what I can gather a BF mk2 (mid 06 stronger bottom end)is the best bang for buck ATM, from my current but limited research the BF has an extra 50 + rwkw with the same mods/money spent to the more refined but smaller turbo FG model, am I correct in saying this?? Looking at 2 vehicles with the same klms but BF 10 grand cheaper than the more current FG nearly exact same mods 50rwkws more power stock but modded huffer both vehicles, if I upgrade with the same 35/82R turbo or a similar turbo (same coin value) will the FG gain the extra gound/time than the extra 50 rwkws versus the extra 10k upfront???

fg will be quicker to 60kmh. depends on what you want to achieve- traffic light drags? or actual drags?

Lets break this down. BF mk2 has the stronger 'rods' I believe than previous models. Assuming both BF and FG vehicles have all the usual bolt on goodies attached (exhaust, injectors, intercooler, intake) then there 'typical' power output is: FG = 330rwkw on 98, BF = 400+rwkw on 98. Should you choose to put the GT35 turbo on the FG then it will make similar power to the BF.

Parts for both would be similar cost, the advantage would be the BF turbo and a BF is cheaper to buy, but you get an older car. Power wise it depends on how far you want to go, if you go a FG max'd turbo 330ish rwkw's on 98 or 350ish rwkw's on e85 you'd have a very quick car with the little turbo, but if you want around 400, than the BF is more tempting as it already has the turbo and is cheaper to buy..

If I was in your situation id go the max'd FG on e85... plenty quick and less problems as its a newer car.. But I already have a B series so id want something different anyway..

I wouldnt say the smaller turbo on the fg is a disadvantage. I bought a bf turbo off this forum already ported ect, then sold my stock fg turbo for the price of the new unit. So really didnt cost anything just half a days labour for me to switch them over which I didnt mind as I learnt how to dismantle and remove a turbo. I personally would get the bf if its in good nick and just tinker with it and keep adding bits and pieces to it. If I get another one I will probably be going back to a ba/bf and buy/make a monster...
