Depending how he geared the bike - it could have been a golf cart flying past him while he's at the limiter :P

If I was ever going to dream about a bike to the point I wanted a licence for - it would definitely be the Ninja 650L

(or not - no idea what one is)

Good starting bike. Just got to find a way to tune it when I get board.

All good

Get your learners yesterday - even if you don't want/need it

Only way you can get your full licence sooner.

Tuning a "L" bike is like tuning a NA Falcon - "Dude - just move on"

Your age would probably get you a short cut there - just get your learners (and your "P"'s asap)

edit: and learn how to ride

(before you comment - NO - NO YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO RIDE)

^WHS. First time you ride a big bike you'll forget all about wanting to mod a LAMS approved bike. I, stupidly, put an exhaust on my GPX250 back in the day coz I thought it was going to be awesome...it wasn't. Then my mates uncle let me ride his CBR1100...never again did I think about ever wanting to spend money on my slow POS GPX. Night and day difference between LAMS and open license bikes. God I miss my bike now :(

My young bloke has a Ninja 650L.

Bought it for the boss but she decided being a rider wasnt for her, so my son took it and just got his license.

Derestrict it straightforward. Theres a white plug under the passenger seat.

Unplug that.

The tricky part is removing the restrictor on the throttle body.

The earlier models are easy to get to but the 2013 on Ninja 650L chassis rails are in the way which means pulling the throttle bodies out. Unless you have access to some fancy tools.

I can vouch for it being a fuking great bike to ride, both in town and out on the highway.
