I finally cracked an 8 second pass yesterday on my GSXR.

You can imagine how stoked I am!

I was also cutting 0.0xx lights every pass, except one pass where I deliberately wanted a slow light, so I popped a 0.115 :)

Not scary at all, just happens really quick and you gotta be on your game as there's four gear changes in about the last six or seven seconds.

I dont have a vid of that pass but here's a 9.06 run from Sunday.

Pretty much all of the noise is from the R1 in the other lane though.

I'm still having some wheelie issues in first and you can see it lift a little in this one too, gotta be quick to catch it so you dont spoil the pass.

The 60' is still relatively slow. A lot of the time is made up from the way it piles on the speed.

325hp tends to make it fark off in a hurry hahaha

Once I get a longer swingarm into it, I reckon I'm going to be knocking on the door of mid eights.

Even with my fat arse on it.

Faaaark!

I came within inches of a fast head-on between my CR500e and a CRF450 once, sends shivers up my spine.

Yeah it's the biggest worry I have when I'm out riding.

And there was way too many head ons in that vid for my liking!

So, you know how sometimes you go to the drags and end up racing against a Nitro Methane burning Top Fuel Harley ???

Well we had the Westernationals over the weekend here in Perth and this is what I came across as I turned up in the lanes for my third qualifier.

I can tell, you I quickly grabbed the quad and bolted back to the pits to get my phone to take some pics !

I believe the rider, Wayne McGuinness, didnt have a group one race license in time for the meeting, so they stuck him in Group Two Comp Bike with us instead of Top Bike where he should have been.

I can tell you, I was stoked to have the opportunity to have a heads up race against a Nitro Harley !!

Have a look at the size difference !!

As you can imagine, in a heads up qualifying race, he fair dinkum handed me my own arse !

Beat me by a full two seconds !

The cool thing was I also ended up racing him in the first round of eliminations.

So not only did I have the pleasure of him exploding away from me off the line, I also had him come past me in the elimination race like I was standing still ! Except at that point, I was probably doing 140mph ! He ended up shutting off too early, trying to protect his index, and I pulled the win out from under him....Yoink !

I ended up going all the way to the finals of the Westernationals, which is kind of a big deal.

Losing to Ross Smith on his 8.1 second Hayabusa, but still an awesome result for a bike that's not yet fully sorted.

I also took back second place in the championship.

I should have a wheelie bar for the Top Fuel meet at the end of the month, so I expect to be able to considerably improve on my pb of 8.98 from the other week as Im still carrying the front in first, even at waste gate spring pressure.

Also, once I get a bar on, I can start upping the boost a little in the first two gears.

Aiming for mid 8s.

Watch this space.
