Car costs $50K and you need $100K worth of cleaning gear to keep it looking scmick.

that's correct champ. I have spent thousands on cleaning products and devices (karcher's) to keep all my cars in 110% condition.

Only the absolute best for my cars. Period.

I will show you how its done, and then you, like me, will gleam and turn heads like no other...... and it will be easier to keep clean.

I *beep* to keep my car fairly clean but I have a number of stubbourn bug guts stains left over from FMC cruise that just wont shift after repeated washing (Maguiers Gold Wash). The car looks clean when I wash it but as soon as it drys the bug guts re-appear. What product do people reccommend me use to remove said bug guts?

Get the angle grinder out mate

Good one Kitty, pay you later for that one!

Not to many of you seem to have actual solutions, just guesses. :(

I'm not prepared to try some unknown chemical/home remedy and find it wrecks the paint.

No, not many of the replies in this topic are in any way constructive!

A lot of people seem to still find it funny to pay out HgAg........

It was funny about 6 months ago.

Time to think of something, umm, NEW TO SAY!

I was speaking with a ford rep and he was telling me to remove nasty little critters on the windscreen, NOT THE PAINT WORK, they have infact used a mild steel wool

aahhhh I think by the look on my face he saw I was rather sceptical...

my first question was: whose car did they first try that on :) but apparently all is good, so if you wish to try for window markings, feel free and report back, I for one don't think it sounds like a good idea though.

back on topic, no real suggestions for duco issues, am keen to hear of a sure fire solution though

Nope, all is good to use steel wool on glass!

We used it on BMW's, Merc's and Porsche's where I used to work to remove overspray etc from windscreens! Works a treat. :smilielol:

Bug & Tar remover or Kerosene will work fine (ever notice how they smell the same) and won't have any harmful effect on your paint. However, you must polish the car straight after applying these products as they will strip off any previously applied product. This solution may not be a good idea if you have any "paint protection" product (eg Ming) as you're not supposed to polish over that stuff.
