I *beep* to keep my car fairly clean but I have a number of stubbourn bug guts stains left over from FMC cruise that just wont shift after repeated washing (Maguiers Gold Wash). The car looks clean when I wash it but as soon as it drys the bug guts re-appear. What product do people reccommend me use to remove said bug guts?

Meguiars Gold class wax, or maybe Wet look.

Use the wash mit form Meguiars, and turn it over (the meshy side) to make absolutely sure all the contaminents are removed from said area.

I will venture over to your house one day and show you how to clean your car properly!

There are products around called "bug and tar remover". Don't know how good they are though.

The old way for removing both road tar and bug guts was to use kerosene on a rag.

Does anyone know if kero onto modern clearcoat is a problem? I'd imagine that it wouldn't be good if you had Ming protection or something like that..

Powder laundry detergent gets it off wonderfully, unfortunately it also strips off every bit of wax as well so that sucks. If you don't mind rewaxing your car, go for it but I am still looking for a better solution.

Surely you are not suggesting that HgAg already looks like bug guts and doesn't need cleaning? That's a bit harsh but now come to think of it, you may be right...... yeah, I can see the similarity.

Good thinking.

HagAg isn't dulled int he eyes of it's owners by bug merely becuase of their poor eyesight - that advanced age and all that...

BUT

Moving back on track.... Has anyone tried the Microfibre car cleaning cloths? We're grabbing one out and perhaps this weekend will try removing the past 4 weeks and 4000+km of bugs from Bruce....

A.
