I'd have thought the handbrake would be direct cable connection and over ride ABS.The handbrake is a direct mechanical link, whereas the ABS is controlled electronically so I doubt the two are connected. I've been told the handbrake in the fords can't withstand that type of punishment, have you ever noticed the handbrake in the VB challenge cars? Definately not stock.
