Azid Member 213 Member For: 13y 7m 15d Posted 30/04/13 01:26 AM Share Posted 30/04/13 01:26 AM Hey guys Ill start by saying I've searched and just can't get exact answers. I recently bought another xr6t bf with the ZF box snswers can't be happier, but having never driven the zf before I'm unsure what's normal and not. It's got 170,000km and I'm planning on doing service very soon. The issue I'm having is the gear changes. If I'm cruising at say 40km and give it a little squirt then back off it will linger in that gear for few seconds bout 2000 revs before changing gears. I've spoken to few guys bout this and can't get clear cut answer if it's the way the stock ZF performs, whether it needs oil change or it's not a good sign. Any help to clear my nerves is hugely appreciatedCheersAz Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/84775-yes-another-zf-question/ Share on other sites

Essentially based on the theory that if you're giving a bit of stick then suddenly lift-off the accelerator pedal you'd be going for the brake...so to change up a gear wouldn't be ideal. It's a very intuitive box that people either absolutely love or despise. Is there anything should do when it happens like brake or something or just let it do it's thing?
