Hi All

Hustler, "rice up" - don't think so. Doesn't fit my definition of rice!

Spoke to Luke at Gaugeworks this am. He has sent out five gauges with covers in the new colour (not sure if Trumpy's is one of these or whether it matches because his car is an early build with a lighter colour)

Luke said he intended to ring around those five people late this week and check if the new colour matches. I asked if he had accessed this thread and he told me he had tried "ford forums" but couldn't find anything relevant. So I gave him the correct url and suggested he might find it quicker and easier to find out what was happening by accessing this forum than by phoning each customer.

It appears my gauge does have a sticky spot and he will send me a changeover replacement next week when the colour bit has hopefully been sorted out. Apparently it's a potential consequence of not having a stop pin to limit gauge travel on vacuum. (the gauge looks better without it) Provided mine is a one-off with this problem, he reckons it should be OK to keep making them without the stop pin, which is a nicer way to go.

Hope I've explained this clearly enough as I would like to save Luke explaining this stuff individually to each of us as much as possible. I trust he will access this website in the near future and catch up with the latest feeedback re this great product.

Cheers

Zeke,

Did luke mention what the outcome is for the rest of us in this boat?

Perhaps he will read this thread and comment - I don't want to annoy them and am just waiting until an answer is posted here. :spit:

Anyway - I have attached my photos now and although old news now the old panel is next to the new one to see the slight variance. At different angles you can not really see the difference however from outside and with less "reflection" it is easily picked up. :ta:

Lets see what can be done :) And I agree on the package from Guageworks ... very nice and well put together.

Cheers,

B.

Just a note on that pic...

The left 2 shots show the mismatch ...

The right 2 shots show how close it is with reflection ...

I apologise for the dirty windscreen ... ow!

Hi Basher

Yeah, Luke said that, as soon as he has confirmed that he's got the right colour, he would send out replacement, changeover covers to anyone whose cover is too light. Apparently the gauges are easily separated from the covers for replacement.

Actually, in the photos, yours doesn't look too bad, but it does depend on the lighting as you've discovered.

Cheers

Just a question for those that have this fitted already.

I noticed that when I have it on boost for a long time (ie going up a long hill in 3rd or 4th) I can hear a hissing sound from under the dash (or possibly engine bay) that I couldnt hear before. I have checked all my fittings for leaks, and cant find any, but you cant stick your head in the engine bay when its on 6psi.

I am unsure whether I do in fact have a leak at the fitting in the engine bay (how do I find out?), or whether this increased noise is simply due to the extra hose coming in to the cabin, bringing the boost noise with it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
