Hi, ba xr6t sedan, I was driveing today and nticed qa clunk in steering wheel, anyway traced that back to the intermite shaft, however I jacked up the passenger said pretty much 5 min after turning car off and I went to spin te wheel but its like the brakes are stick on, I could still move it with a fair bit of force. so I though id try ppuming brakes to relezse all vacum bpressure in the booster and after that the wheel spun freely like it should, really free haha. anyway I started the car and let it idle but it was still spinning freely.

any throght? I only checked the passenger side as I ran out of time

I had a similar problem where the back brakes were dragging and sticking on, after changing rear calipers, master cylinder, fluid the problem came back and found out that there is a little (8mm) adjusting bolt. Its found on the end of the booster rod. screw it in half a turn (hold with long nose pliers)

This fixed my problem and now the back brakes dont get hot and even have fuel economy

mine went back to ford as my rears were getting hot, done the adjustment but still sticking after a 10-15 min drive.

I just bought a set of fg turbo rotors and calipers with 300klm on them ,see how we go .

ps. maybe they didn't screw it in enough, the ford guy said it had moved a lot ??????

Well I only checked one wheel, but my fuel economy has been sh*t lately! so id say I have nothing to lose trying it but just thought id ask as its weird how it came good after I (I guess you could say) released the vacume pressure from the booster.

thanks, well I checked mine by moveing the master cylinder to one side and puting a dob a paint on the push rod end, then placeing master back on and then removeing, you can clearly see its been touching,....so I pulled the rod out gently (at same time thorght I broke it as it came out freely lol) and tried to do bilt up a little but its pretty tight so I only got it about 1/4 of a turn.....

ive read theres a lock nut?? where is that?? am I doing it wrong lol

theres absolutly no movement in the brake pedal, as soon as I hit the brake pedal the brakes aply lol theres sumposed to be slight clearance?

cheers
