Centre bearing is apparently a similar style to the standard one. Bit of an update took my car to Gibson drive shafts to see if Chris could diagnose the vibration issue and the only thing he could come up with is because I'm still running the standard diff bushes (still in good condition) there is too much movement in the diff whilst under load which changes the angle of the diff and causes the vibration. So the car is booked into city suspension to get competition bushes installed on Tuesday.

Only thing that worries me is noise transfer with the competition bushes , I'm still running the standard cat back exhaust so if it makes the car louder I will definitely notice it. Only reason I was going with the competition ones is to limit the amount the diff moves under load

LU82 Bronze Donating Members 569 Member For: 12y 17d Posted 23/08/13 12:29 PM Share Posted 23/08/13 12:29 PM I appreciate the info sixman . The car only has 19,500km on it and they are mostly from freeway driving so I was thinking if I just replace the three diff bushes that would be enough. Do you still think it would be of benefit if I get the control arm bushes installed considering the low km? Another guy on here has the same tailshaft as me and is using the comfort bushes , and he said his car is running perfect with no vibrations . So I think I will go with the comfort bushes instead of the competition ones.

Bushes do not sound relevant to me, unless I have just missed that it does also happen on stock tailshafts with bad bushes.
LU82 Bronze Donating Members 569 Member For: 12y 17d Posted 23/08/13 11:26 PM Share Posted 23/08/13 11:26 PM From what I've been told the new tailshaft is more sensitive to angle change that's why I only notice the vibration while accelerating . With the standard tailshaft and bushes my car drives fine .
