I am going to have the car retuned with approx 420 rear wheel kilowatts. I went to Sydney driveline services to get a upgraded tail shaft and have had no joy. They have been excellent to deal with and have gone above and beyond any workshop I have ever dealt with. However they have built three shafts for the car and all of them have vibrated. Two were 2 piece shafts and one was a 1 piece shaft. The one piece shaft was the best of all. They spent the last two weeks with the car trying to fix it and have now refunded my money. However I still need a strengthened shaft, does any one have some advice? Surely I cannot be the first manual FG to run 600+ horsepower.

Or just buy 3/4 stock shafts and replace when one goes, the vibration thing is common I hear on aftermarket ones..Did you go to Ford to get it balanced while it was on the car? I didnt have the shaft balanced or anything after joining the two, so I think it might just come down to plain dumb luck.lol

They do all the tailshafts for C&V, I just had mine strengthened and it drives exactly as it did from the factory. I have 326rwkw but mine is auto. They do a shaft that will handle 1000hp I am sure they will be able to help you, Glen is a champion bloke. Tell him Ashley with the white G6E Turbo sent you. I had a shaft done by them in January and have had nothing but 7 months of knocks and vibrations and constant frustration dealing with them. It's only getting fixed properly now after I told Glen if he doesn't I'm going to fair trading. He's a good bloke but is too unreliable and doesn't want to deal with warranty. I spoke to Hardy Spicer initially and they didn't want to know about it.

I only get a vibration while under hard acceleration but no vibration once up to speed so I'm guessing it's not a balance issue. Car is booked in next Monday so hopefully the issue will be sorted. I will let you guys know how I go .

LU82 Bronze Donating Members 569 Member For: 12y 17d Posted 14/08/13 05:23 AM Share Posted 14/08/13 05:23 AM I'm not sure what style centre bearing was used I will find out Monday. I was talking to Chris (Gibson driveshafts) on the phone and explained what was happening and he said something about spacing out the center bearing to get the right angle . I will find out more next week .
